3 Year Letter

Dearest Maya,

Today you are three years old. I was just looking back at your letter from last year, and trying to determine where, exactly, to begin with this year's letter. And I'm still not sure!

One thing I am sure of is that this year, you really moved from being a "toddler" to being a "little person," at least in our minds. Your pacifier and diapers are a thing of the past, and you consistently amaze us with what you are capable of. You will be starting preschool with your brother in the fall. It's so weird to think of you as a preschooler, but that is pretty much what you are!

You continue to bring so much happiness to us all. You are our very own Little Miss Sunshine, and we adore you for it! You and your brother have your moments where you fight over toys and whatnot, but those moments are far outnumbered by the ones where you are tickling him, hugging him, playing games with him, or just generally being his partner in crime. You two generally bring out the best in each other, and it's such a joy to behold. Your smile and laugh are infectious, and you give the best hugs and kisses in the world. I feel like I've said it a million times, but you really were the missing piece in our family. I cannot fathom our lives without you!

You continue to grow and learn every day, and you make us so proud. You know many of your letters and their sounds, and you do your best to help your brother try to read things. You can count to twenty without any problems. And when you draw, your pictures are starting to become recognizable. It's amazing how the human brain works! And I am pleased to report that yours works great. :)

We love you more than you will ever know, baby girl. All of us. Even the cat, who loves when you announce that "he just wants some love" (followed by gentle petting). Your happiness radiates from you, and your cuddles are simply the best. Happy Birthday, sweet girl! We love you and are so, SO proud of the little person you're becoming!

All our love,
Mommy, Daddy, and Nikos
