Bubbles!

We went to a super fun birthday party this afternoon! The kids generally enjoy themselves at parties, but this one was seriously one of the best they have been to. It was a bubble party, and they were SO into it!

During the first part of the party, the kids got to play with giant bubble wands out in the back yard. They both had a blast, but Nikos really developed a knack for making the big ones. Maya tended to move her arm too quickly, flinging bubble solution on innocent bystanders. But she had fun nonetheless!

Then it was time for the bubble show. As we were driving to their house this afternoon, Nikos had insisted that he wanted nothing to do with the bubble show, and that he was going to be shy. Wrong! This kid had me rolling on the floor. He was the bubble lady's number one fan, cheering and clapping louder than anyone else. And he shouted out the answers every time she asked a question, which was pretty impressive since a lot of her questions were about science. That's my boy! (proud mommy moment!) And then, when the bubble lady wanted volunteers, Nikos was the first person she called on. He looks just miserable, doesn't he? :)

Maya thought about getting into a bubble, too, but was in sort of shy mood this afternoon. She loved watching the show, but was content to sit on the sidelines.

Anyway, it was a TON of fun, and something I'm sure the kids will be talking about for a long time. What a great idea for a party!
